Cubicles and Cake 01/18/2012
I may not have time to write more than one post each week, but I do have time to share pictures like this: A blackberry cake in my cubicle at work. (Forgive the lightning. We're dealing with florescent, my friends.) Because sometimes, we need a little sweetness to get through our day. And I've needed A LOT lately. CommentsMonet 01/18/2012 10:17am
There is nothing like fresh blackberries. They were on sale for 1 dollar a carton...score!.

I think I should start a cake delivery service...but only to cubes!

Blackberries grow wild around my parent's house. When I was younger I would just walk down that country road with my bucket and fill it with sweet blackberries (all the while trying to avoid the poison ivy.) I always planned to make great things with them like a pie or muffins but they usually didn't make it all the way home.

I've never had a blackberry cake, either, but it sure looks delicious to me! I also love that I can see a copy of a cookbook on your desk. :) The weekend is just around the corner...WHEEEEEE! Enjoy it, sweet friend.

Yes! I actually designed that cookbook for my colleagues here at work! I can't escape my passion :-) Thanks for your sweet words. We are almost to Friday!!!

Oh, man. This headline makes me laugh. When I last worked for a big company I used to always joke. On any given day at 3pm in the afternoon there would be cake. It was just a matter of finding it.

This cake looks beautiful, my sweet friend! Cakes are yummy and I bet you need a little to get you through your busy weeks. I haven't kept in touch well but you are in my thoughts. Wishing you a happy weekend and a joyful beginning to the year. (And middle and end!)

I never get enough cake! No one makes it but me, and I never make it for myself! He he. Love your gorgeous cake... am making one for a girl friend's b-day the day after Valentine's and think I will reach back through time and make the "very first" rendition of Birthday Cake - the yellow butter cake - but instead of chocolate frosting, I am going to make mine pink!
