Away 07/11/2010
Ryan and I are currently in HOT and HUMID Texas, and I'm both homesick and tired. I won't be online much over the next week, and I will miss interacting with all of you through your lovely comments and emails. Whenever I'm feeling a bit down, I try to focus on any beautiful or blossoming area of my life. And so in this case of the Texas blues, I turn my eyes to the wonderful person I married, who has been beside me through what has been one of our most challenging years. So today, in lieu of scones or cheesecakes, I want to share some photographs from one of the best days of my life. Ah, yes. I already feel lighter. Please forgive me over the next few days if I am slow at returning emails or commenting on posts. Driving across the country and staying at motels with questionable cleanliness and Wi-fi service has been a challange. I hope that these pictures brought a smile to your face (because who doesn't love a wedding?) and I look forward to catching up with everyone soon! CommentsThanks for sharing, Monet! I hope the rest of your trip goes well for you, aside from the bump in the road ;) You two are a beautiful couple, and these are some of the most gorgeous wedding photos I've seen (and trust me - I've seen a lot!) Though I always say being a good photographer is only half of it - as cute as you two are together, you were probably the photographer's dream!

Great Pics Monet....finding the right person to spend your life with means so much! It makes bad days much more tolerable, and good days extraordinary!

You're heading to my old stomping grounds! We lived in the Dallas area for 6 years before moving to Charlotte. It is definitely hot there and some parts are not so pretty, but there are good parts to Texas.

Have a safe and fun trip and hang in there. I'm so happy you have Ryan for support - we all need that special person in our life to help us through our ups and downs.

Gorgeous pictures! I also love getting a little insight into people's lives aside from their blog. Thanks for sharing :) Hope the weather cools down on your trip and the hotels are cleaner than you expect :) I hate hotels. We always try to find the least expensive, cleanest pace. It's a struggle.

We're on the road going similar directions at the same time. I'm in Alabama with my daughter on a little roadtrip. The difference is, we'll be heading back up north later this week. I know you're making the right decision with this move and I'm wishing you both the very best!

You should enjoy your time away! I know this sounds cliche, but savor each and every moment you spend with your husband.

Oh my goodness, your wedding was beautiful. I love the pictures, they are so unique. I find that wedding photos are all so generic, I like seeing different ones. Road tripping across america is tough work, my dad is a professional landscape photographer, so we spent all our vacations driving the back roads of various parts of America. Don't worry you'll be home soon and back to the lovely hussle and bussle of city life.

I love it when writing a blog post proves very lifting--probably for both the writer AND the readers. Your pictures are GORGEOUS and so, as other have noted, are you!

Sorry to hear you're going through a bit of a rough patch, Monet. Isn't it wonderful to have someone special to lean on, though? Your pictures are beautiful! I (as well as many others) will be anxiously awaiting your return!

Thanks for your comment on She's Cookin. Yes, that part of southwest France is so beautiful. Hope you and your husband get to visit one day soon.

These pictures are absolutely precious, Monet. Sometimes the last thing I'm thinking of on a long road trip with my husband is how much I love him, but it's times like these when you really bond the most. Have a safe trip and enjoy the quality time you spend with your hubby.

Monet, I just returned from the heat and humidity and know that it - as well as what you're going thru emotionally - can make a heart heavy. Fortunately, you have your love beside you! Thanks for sharing your beautiful wedding photos with us.

Welcome to Texas! I always check out your stuff while at work but for whatever reason I can't leave comments..weird. But I hope you are adjusting OK to the horribly hot weather! Let me know when you get all settled and maybe we can exchange desserts sometime :)

Good luck in finding a perfect place in Texas. One of our daughters lives there and loves it. She's in a downtown condo, though, because she & her husband had a house and garden and found gardening was not their thing. But the walkability of downtown Austin is great.
