This year has been an eventful one that has brought us much change. We have lived in four different cities in our first year of marriage and in each of those cities we lived under very different circumstances, our kitchens varying greatly. We started off our married life in a kitchen full of boxes as we prepared for our move Eastward. In Philadelphia we lived in a wheelchair accessible dorm room, bringing in a mini-fridge and a rice cooker as our only means for food preparation (we also had access to the Temple University cafeteria, yuk!). Baltimore’s kitchen (pictured, we never once used the microwave) was too narrow for two of us to be in it at once, but this did not dissuade the colony of roaches from living behind our refrigerator. In Colorado Springs we are back to a kitchen barely small enough to house a third of the wares that Monet makes magic with, but still she is not deterred.
