Holiday Rolls

Thanksgiving is fast approaching! I've compiled a few of my favorite holiday rolls for your baking and viewing pleasure.

This upcoming week will hold a collection of Holiday Sweets: Cranberry Nut Bread, Chocolate Loaves with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese, and Sour Cream Sugar cookies.

If you have any requests...please let me know! I would love to hear your thoughts or ideas.

May your Sunday be full of reflection, thoughtful meditation and a lot of love.

Herbed Monkey Bread--Perfect for a small gathering of friends and family. These bite sized rolls are coated in an herb infused oil. Need I say more?

Carrot Rolls--Serve these to the little ones. Their bright color and sweetness are due to my favorite childhood vegetable.

Honey Oat Rolls--Wholesome. And we all need more of that considering what follows dinner...PIE and lots of it.

Ginger Pumpkin Loaf--Delicious. And sophisticated. If you're needing to impress your in-laws or your cousin in culinary school, this would be the pick for you.

Sweet Potato Rolls--These are fluffy, moist and addictive. I could eat 3 of these in one sitting. Believe me, I've done it before.

Vegan Cornbread--and my husband.

Sweet Wheat Rolls--These are the family classic. I can make these in my sleep. No Thanksgiving at the Moutrie's is complete without them.

I hope that one of these recipes can fit at your table. Thank you for allowing me to share some of my older (somewhat embarrassing) posts. I've learned so much over these past ten months.

And thank you for your continued support, kindness and creativity. You inspire me to continue to do the things that I love.

I can't wait! The Cranberry Bread and Chocolate Loaves with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese sound especially exciting, and perfect for Christmas morning breakfast.

It was fun browsing through your older posts--Monkey Bread was always one of our family favorites when I was growing up, but we usually had a cinnamon-sugar variety. I like the idea of a savory-herb version that you made.

Love all the delicious rolls you've made...what a great idea to gather them all up, along with the "priceless" photo of your cute husban too.
You have solved the Thanksgiving most import part...tried and true recipes,so I won't have to guess which rolls I should look for to make, when you are only a click away for the answer.

I made your braided Ginger Pumpkin Bread: http://inthewheel.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-been-30-years-since-i-did-this.html. I want to tell everyone it's not too difficult, and it looks and smells and tastes spectacular. This is the one if you're looking to really dress up the Thanksgiving table.

Now I have my eye on the carrot and the sweet potato rolls. I'm such a carb-lover, I would be happy to have my Thanksgiving consist of an assortment of your rolls and breads...with a bit of turkey on the side. ;-)

The herbed monkey bread sounds delicious. I've only had it as a sweet. I do believe those sweet potato rolls are what I'm looking for to put in the Thanksgiving bread basket. I'm looking for a cornmeal brioche recipe. I had one years ago and cannot find it.

If I get REALLY brave, I may do the monkey bread for Christmas Eve. It'll be our first year hosting it. Mom's 85 and having the herd at her condo isn't a great idea any more. So, my plan is to change it up a bit and have some fun with the menu. My brother's in-laws lOVE rolls. So,... Hope baby Ryan is doing better. You've all been on my mind!! Take Care, Kate

you really know how to drive me crazy with all these goodies
i'd like to thank you for the rolled oats breads, I made them Saturday while we were visiting my mother in law (to impress her ha ha ha ) and, oh my, they are to die for, fresh from the oven spread with butter, all you want is hide and enjoy them alone, thanks, once again for the recipe.
Now my heart is set on those monkey breads, can't wait to try them when I get back home

oh no - now I'm stuck - I have too may options! Do I want honey oat rolls...sweet wheat...herbed monkey bread...sweet potato rolls...?! I just want to make them all. Choices are good, right? haha. I'll have to get a general consensus. And I'm very glad to see a cornbread recipe - I was looking for one of those, too.

Sweet potatoes and yams are not the same thing. Most mass market retail grocery stores mis-label sweet potatoes as yams. True yams are difficult to find in most grocery stores. Some ethnic markets may carry them as well as some grocery stores. Two varieties of sweet potatoes are commercially grown in the U.S., one with light yellow skin and pale yellow flesh and a darker-skinned variety with dark orange flesh. The darker of the two is often confused with yams of Africa and Central and South America. The Red Garnet variety of sweet potato has a reddish skin and deep orange and sweet flesh, it's a favorite of many.
